I've never done anything like this before and have had such a fab time.  I love everything I've made and hope that the people that buy them love them just as much as me!

Have a little faith!

Yes I am still alive and kicking; been so busy that blogging has not featured as high on my to do list.

I'm going to try something different from now on and try to keep the posts short and sweet with plenty of pictures!

I decided last week that I would take some of my handmade goodies into work and create a little display.

A work colleague bought a mouse (the one on the left!) for her niece's birthday.

She loved it but her sister was upset and asked her Auntie for a frog.

A frog!  NO WAY could I make one of those!

One night later.........
She loved it too!!!!!

Just have faith in whatever you do because if you try hard enough you can do it x

School Holidays

We are now into our 4th week of school holidays.  Both me and hubby have been sharing the childcare - although I have drawn the short straw in that, when I'm off work I have both children!

One is 6 (nearly 7 as I have been reminded constantly!) and one is nearly 3.  They want to play together all the time but then seem to fight like cat and dog within 5 minutes.

Needless to say I haven't had much crafting time.  But when I have this is what I have been up to......

Polka peg painting for next sale.....

 A bit of papering.......

and voila!.......

And last but not least I had fun with some PVA glue and old beano comics...

I'm looking forward to a little rest in the caravan next week with a stash of wool and a crochet hook - I'm thinking maybe a new blanket!

Oooops I'm now on a Car Boot Ban

Yep you guessed it Sunday = Car boot.  The Kids were very excited this morning as Granny was coming too!

We got there bright and early and look what came home with us.......
(some lovely thread that I think I can crochet)

(1980's books - I think I can remember them from my youth)

(cute little jelly moulds - these were Granny's find!)

(some old tin dishes - I'm thinking plant pots, maybe a little herb garden for the window sill)

(lovely turquoise wool - maybe Yarndale bunting??????)

(I could not resist - even in it's original box)

(Another flask to go with the picnic stuff and this old flour/icing sugar sifter)

But by far the best find of the day was......

(not sure what all the bits are but there's lots and I can't wait to give it a bit of love and tlc!!!!!)

There were a few more things like a very old rusty key, some vintage material and some old photo frames (crafty project!!!!) but they all be put away!

Needless to say I have now banned myself from the Car boot - that's it until I have done a couple of fairs I am not allowed even a peep!

Marvelous Monday

I went to my local hospice on Monday as I had been told there was lots of buttons for sale.

I thought I had gone to heaven.......

This was just one box, there was at least 8 of these all together.   I ended up buying a box of coloured buttons and some large vintage buttons and can't wait to have a proper sort out.

Whilst I was there I could not help myself and took two boxes of the buttons home to sort and tidy for the Hospice. They have a stall at the craft fair which I sell some of my things at and I thought it would be nice if they had their buttons nice and neat - some people don't always like to rummage!

Stage one.......Wash and dry the buttons.

Stage 2 - start sorting into groups

Stage 3 - Sew on cards

All finished ready for them to sell

Now on to the next box - I am one happy bunny : )

Sunny Happy Days

Well the Sun has got his hat on and has done now for the last couple of weeks.

We decided to go to our caravan this weekend and had a fab time with the kids going to the park, lovely walks in the fields and picnics on the grass.  Needless to say Sunday we had a wander over to the car boot in Cumbria.

Just crying out to me for some TLC.....

 Too cute not to have.....

 Always wanted something like this.....

Thinking storage for my handmade mittens......

Could not resist a bit of vintage Tupperware!

As you can see any space I made from the recent craft fair has now been filled ; )

Treading water and more treasures....

I began writing this post last week in my little notebook but it failed to make it to my blog.

That about sums up the last few week/months for me.  It feels like I am just about keeping my head above the water.  I've been feeling a bit like Lucy from Attic 24 had been - as though I have been juggling everything, getting nowhere and now I've dropped them all!

After the weekend I seem to feel better - whilst I still have lists and things I want to get done I'm trying to adopt a "it will get done at some point" mantra.  I had a craft and vintage fair on Friday and Saturday and although it was slow and deflating at times I actually did ok. This was a small part of my stall.  I sold a few pieces of my vintage ware so now it feels like I have a bit less cluttering the shelves at home.

Needless to say today whilst the weather was scorching we popped over to a local car boot.  We hadn't been to this one before but I think we will go again.  This is what came home with me.

A fab little vintage 1950's travel iron in it's little case, old tin Thermos flask, some fancy bottles which I can see Elderflower cordial in!

A glass juicer, doilies and can you see the cute little cat mirror!

These happen to be one of my favourites though - little packs of vintage pictures.  Not sure what I will do with them but they had to be mine.

The lady that was selling this old pattern told me that it was her mum that had made her the skirt from this pattern. The seller was 75 years old now and had found it amongst some old bits and bobs.

This is my favourite too - I found these at the back of a table under some other bits. Its quite a big collection of old postcards that had been sent to the same lady from all her relatives, I think the oldest is one dated 1955.  Most of them are written on and they are all legible.  I can't wait to get a cuppa and have a little read at the holiday memories.

Lastly some old jars - I had no idea what these jars were I just liked them and thought they may come in handy but after looking on the internet I can see that they are quite popular.  Now all I've got to do is work out what I can do with them all.

So glad that I have finally made time to blog - next time I will blog about my little visit to Lucy and Tracy's studio event.

Car Booty!

We have still be going to the Car boot every Sunday but I have tried to only buy what I like at a bargain price.  Here's what I bought over the past couple of weeks.

I have booked to do another shumble sale in August and am doing a vintage fair in July so it will add to my stock!

Another sugar shaker to add to my collection!

A small jelly mould this time.

A pink filigree Meakin tea set which I think is adorable - would look lovely in a caravan!

 A Meakin "Poppy" Teaset

I'm thinking this may house my crochet hooks!

Bargain buy of the century and how excited were my little ones when I got home!  Think it is actually quite an old set.
A 1950's fishing creel - again not sure whether this is a keep as then it can be a prop on my stall.

I already have a vintage Mason & Cash bowl but this one is enormous!

Some vintage bobbins - again not sure if these are keepers!

Have you got any bargains recently????

The Grand Tour

We have been in our lovely new home for 6 months now and for the past month all the decorating and home improvements have been finished!

I can't say the house is fully finished yet though; it's a bit messy with all my craft stuff and we are still finding bits and bobs to rehouse from our old house.  There's also a few jobs we would still like to do but need to save up yet more pennies.

But as promised here is the grand tour - I wasn't sure whether to do before and after pics or just the house as it is so here goes.

Get yourself a cuppa and have a peep at the OLD house...... Come Inside
(this is the only photo we have of the outside - its work in progress as we need to redo the drive)

(Hmmm not very inviting is it!)

Lets go up the stairs and into Miss Molly's room..... oh

it's a bit cramped in here... lets not stop long, come into Jake's instead...

At least we've already started in this room - hubby put up the coving.  Can't stop long though and onto the next room...

OOOOps for some strange reason we didn't take a before shot of the master bedroom but if you close your eyes and picture a dirty cream carpet, black and white striped wallpaper and matching curtains, black candelabra style light then you've cracked it!!!!!!

Do you need the loo before we go back downstairs.....hmmm rather not!

By heck get your feet up and watch some tv....

Whilst I make a brew....

Oh and lets not forget the outside....

And the conservatory....

I've had to show you this way so the before pictures first as although I thought I'd been happy snappy with the camera I have missed some of the finished rooms so to be on the safe side I will take lots this weekend!
