The Shumble Sale

Well today I was up very bright and breezy getting ready for the Shumble Sale.

The sun was shining bright and although things were slow I managed to sell a few of my vintage buys that I had upcycled.

(my stall at the sale)

Even when sales are sometimes slow it is really nice to meet fellow crafters, have a chat and share ideas.  I've already book my place at the one in August so I'd better get organised.

Yet more treasure

Yeah I know, I whinged and whined about not having enough room.  So guess who went to the car boot on Sunday.  I did give myself a talking to and did set out just to "have a look" but I could not resist these lovely beauties!

Anyway the "Shumble Sale" is in 2 weeks so if I get my bum in gear most of my treasure will be someone else's and I can start again!!!!!!!!

These are staying at home with me and are getting put on some vintage bedside tables...
And ending on another positive the house is now finished - yep totally. I promise that once I have some photos I will take you on the grand tour : )

Happy holidays

Hope you all had a fab Bank Holiday!
Yesterday for a change we did not venture to the car boot! This probably was a good move as the space in our house is slowly dwindling.

Instead we have been trying to get through a few more of the jobs on our house and I'm glad to say that we are finally getting there.  Today we finished a small utility room, sorted the loft, tidied the garden some more and hubby fitted some skirting board to the conservatory.

My youngest stayed at Grandma's and my boy played outside for most of the day so that left a little bit of time for some crafting/revamping to take place.

Enough with the blah blah blah and on with the pictures!

(one of the vintage suitcases I bought at auction 3 weeks ago)

(wit woo all cheery and prettified)

(I found this bag and a matching small vanity case inside the suitcase so stitched a few vintage buttons on the pocket and hey presto!)

Got a few more things to clean and revamp ready for the shumble sale but I'm sure they can have blog posts of their own : )  Hope your bank holiday was as productive as mine.

Vintage Linen Box

Remember yesterday I posted about revamping and had made a start on cleaning an old wooden "bath box".

Well that dirty old box ......

Has had a new lease of life.....

I've made a lovely new padded top for it and painted it nice and white.  It's soooooo beautiful but : (  (sad face) I don't think I am keeping it I think it will be going to the shumble sale.  And the other box that I had finished has already gone to a new home too!

On a brighter note I put some bids in at the auction yesterday and managed to win 5 of the lots which we picked up today in my lunch break.
(Here's one of the boxes)

I haven't really managed to have a good look at what I bought but have managed to spruce some vintage cutlery up which was looking dirty and tarnished.
(Made by Christopher Johnson & Co in Sheffield)

And I found an old mould right at the bottom.....

Have a good bank holiday for those in the UK and a fab weekend to everyone x x x

A bit of revamping!

T'other night hubby was wallpapering the stairs and to not feel left out I had a peep in the garage at some of the things that had followed me home from an auction last month.

I got some hot water and soapy suds and got to work!!!!!!!

I gave this old vintage bath box a good old scrub ready for a repaint (will let you know how it looks when its finished).  Then moved on to the next project.

I got this as part of an auction lot (it came with the box above) and was not entirely sure I actually wanted it.  But after buying a staple gun from the car boot at the weekend I wanted something to practice on.  I got a few bits of fabric from my stash and set to work.........

I managed to line the inside and am pretty impressed with my first go!!!!!

The end product what do you think?  I can't believe it's actually the same box : )
